Barton's Acevedo Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College setter Angelica Acevedo has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 25 - Oct. 1, the Conference announced today. This marks Barton's second straight Conference POTW honor.
Acevedo, a junior from Coamo, Puerto Rico, posted a pair of double-doubles after dishing out 84 assists and collecting 26 digs to lead Barton to a 2-0 record last week.
In a 3-1 win over Mount Olive, Acevedo turned in 52 assists with 15 digs for her first double-double of the week. She followed the performance with a 32-assist, 11-dig double-double in a straight-set victory over Belmont Abbey.
Acevedo currently ranks second in Conference Carolinas in assists (558) and assists per set (9.96), while ranking ninth in total digs (201).
