Southern Wesleyan's O'Connor Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan University outside hitter Paige O'Connor has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 11-17, the Conference announced today. This marks her second straight POTW honor and SWU's second of the year.
O'Connor, a senior from Ada, Mich., turned in another solid week of play and led the Warriors to a 2-0 week in Conference play. She hit .450 with 30 kills, 14 digs and four service aces in seven sets of action.
O'Connor hit .474 and posted a double-double of 20 kills and 10 digs with three service aces in a 3-1 win over Lees-McRae. She would follow that performance up with 10 kills on a .409 hitting clip and collect four digs in a 3-0 sweep of King.
O'Connor currently ranks second in Conference Carolinas in total kills (144) and total points (166), while ranking third in kills per set (3.43) and fourth in hitting percentage (.259).
