Barton's Elkins Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College outside hitter Kaytlin Elkins has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 18-24, the Conference announced today.

A freshman from Hope Hills, N.C., Elkins put away 35 kills for a 4.38 kills per set average on .316 hitting to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 Conference record last week. She would add 13 digs and five blocks to her weekly totals.

Elkins posted 14 kills, eight digs and three blocks in a 3-0 sweep of North Greenville to open the week. She would follow that performance up with 21 kills and five digs in a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Southern Wesleyan.

O'Connor currently ranks first in Conference Carolinas in kills per set (3.96), while ranking second in total kills (194), points (215.5) and points per set (4.4).
