Barton's Macdonald Named Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Nicola Macdonald has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets swam during the week of Jan. 8-14, the Conference announced today. This marks her second SOTW of the season and Barton's third.
A freshman from Durban, South Africa, Macdonald won six of the seven events she participated in for Barton in its dual meet against Catawba and tri-meet with Chowan and St. Andrews.
Macdonald won the 200-yard (2:02.31) and 500-yard (5:32.19) freestyles against Catawba, while also anchoring Barton's 200-yard (1:43.92) freestyle relay team. A day later, Macdonald posted wins in the 50-yard (25.93) freestyle, 100-yard (55.64) freestyle and 200-yard (1:43.89) freestyle relay, while finishing second in the 200-yard (2:03.61) freestyle.
