Barton's Macdonald Named Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College's Nicola Macdonald has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets swam during the week of Jan. 8-14, the Conference announced today. This marks her second SOTW of the season and Barton's third.

A freshman from Durban, South Africa, Macdonald won six of the seven events she participated in for Barton in its dual meet against Catawba and tri-meet with Chowan and St. Andrews.

Macdonald won the 200-yard (2:02.31) and 500-yard (5:32.19) freestyles against Catawba, while also anchoring Barton's 200-yard (1:43.92) freestyle relay team. A day later, Macdonald posted wins in the 50-yard (25.93) freestyle, 100-yard (55.64) freestyle and 200-yard (1:43.89) freestyle relay, while finishing second in the 200-yard (2:03.61) freestyle.
