Barton's Stenborg Named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College forward Bobby Stenborg has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 1-7, the Conference announced today.

Stenborg, a junior from Garner, N.C., shot 75 percent from the field and averaged 21 points, 6.5 rebounds, three assists and one steal last week to keep the Bulldogs atop of the Conference Carolinas standings.

In a 110-105 win over Lees-McRae, Stenborg posted 14 points with six boards, six dimes and two steals. The highlight of Stenborg's week would come in a 92-90 come-from-behind win over King. The forward would score a career-high 28 points, with 16 coming in the final 10 minutes, which erased a 16-point deficit for the win. Stenborg would add seven rebounds to his game total.

Stenborg currently averages 14.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game on 60.7 percentage shooting. His field goal percentage ranks second in Conference Carolinas, while his points per game rank 10th.
