King's Salomon Named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University forward Mike Salomon has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 19-25, the Conference announced today. This marks Salomon's second straight POTW, while being King's third straight honor and the fifth overall this season.
A sophomore from Statesboro, Ga., Salomon averaged 19 points, 6.5 rebounds and shot 54.2 percent from the field to lead the Tornado to a 2-0 record and an outright Conference Carolinas regular season championship.
Salomon matched his career-high point total in a 93-80 win over Emmanuel, as he scored 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting (5-8 3pt) with four boards and one steal. With a regular season title on the line, Salomon would come up big in the season finale against rival Lees-McRae. He would just miss a double-double, pouring in 17 points with nine rebounds in a tough 102-98 win.
Salomon currently averages 11.2 points and 5.1 rebounds. He ranks fourth in Conference Carolinas with 70 made threes.
