North Greenville's Howell Named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University forward Roderick Howell has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 29 - Feb. 4, the Conference announced today.
Howell, a junior from Rock Hill, S.C., averaged 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, two blocks and shot 75 percent from the floor to lead NGU to a pair of Conference Carolinas victories last week.
In a one-point 66-65 win over Emmanuel, Howell scored 13 points and pulled down eight boards in 24 minutes of action. He would have another solid performance in a 70-61 win over first-place Mount Olive, going for 14 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
Howell currently averages 10.2 points on 56.2 percent shooting and 7.2 rebounds. His shooting percentage ranks sixth in Conference Carolinas, while his rebounds per game rank 10th.
