Rankings Update: North Greenville No. 1, Other Programs Ranked in Final Polls

GREENVILLE, S.C. – With spring sports seasons wrapping up and others in national championship play, below is a wrap-up of national and regional rankings.

  • North Greenville highlights this week’s rankings update as the Crusaders are the No. 1 team in the Collegiate Baseball, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and NCAA Southeast Region rankings. North Greenville enters the NCAA postseason with a 45-8 record and garnered 240 points in the Collegiate Baseball poll while UNC Pembroke received votes. The full poll is available here

    NGU collected seven of 19 first place votes in the NCBWA poll and 448 points to move up four spots to No. 1. UNC Pembroke received 66 votes to come in at No. 24. The Crusaders also received six of the 10 first place votes in the NCBWA Southeast region poll to claim the top spot with 96 points. UNCP was fifth in the region with 60 points while Belmont Abbey was eighth with 32 points and Mount Olive with No. 10 with 16 points. The poll can be viewed here.

  • The final Spring 2022 Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches’ Poll was released on May 13 and Barton was ranked 20th with 132 points while Belmont Abbey, Erskine and King each received votes. In the final division II Golfstat rankings, Barton was No. 16 while Belmont Abbey was No. 22. The Bushnell/Golfweek poll is located here while the Golfstat rankings can be found here.

  • Belmont Abbey joined the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)/Dynamic 2022 Men’s Coaches Division II Poll at No. 20 with 53 points while Mount Olive received votes in the May 9 release. The Crusaders were also ranked No. 19 in the Inside Lacrosse Division II media poll. The USILA/Dynamic poll is located here while the Inside Lacrosse poll can be viewed here.  

  • Belmont Abbey and Mount Olive each received votes in the May 9th edition of the Inside Lacrosse Women (ILWomen)/Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Poll. The full poll is here.

  • In the latest NCAA Division II women’s outdoor track & field United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI), Mount Olive leads Conference Carolinas programs at No. 3 in the Southeast Region with 577.73 points. All 12 league programs that sponsor track and field were listed in the 30-team ranking with UNC Pembroke, Southern Wesleyan and Belmont Abbey joining the Trojans in the top-10.     In the men’s TFRI, the Trojans are also the top league program in the region at No. 4 with 555.53 points. Of the other 11 Conference Carolinas programs in the rankings, only UNC Pembroke joined Mount Olive in the top 10 at No. 8 with 293.98 points. The complete men’s ranking is available here

  • In the final National Volleyball Association (NVA)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I-II Coaches Poll North Greenville was the first team to receive votes following its win at the NCAA National Championship opening round. Off the Block released its final National Media Poll and the Crusaders were also the first team to receive votes. In the Off the Block Division II Coaches Poll, North Greenville climbed two spots to No. 5 with 41 points and one first place vote while Mount Olive was No. 6 with 33 points.
