Seven Programs Ranked in National Polls in Weekly Update

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Seven programs earned spots in their respective national polls in this week’s rankings update headlined by North Greenville who remains atop the NCBWA poll.

  • The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released the second regular season poll of the year and North Greenville, who is 11-0 overall and 3-0 in league play, remained atop the poll with 499 points and 18-of-19 first-place votes. UNC Pembroke moved up one spot to No. 14 with 255 points. Unsurprisingly, NGU topped the Southeast Region poll with 100 points and all 10 first-place votes while UNC Pembroke was ranked third with 80 points and Belmont Abbey came in at No. 8 with 24 points.   • In the week 14 NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) regular season media poll for men’s basketball UNC Pembroke remained in the top-10 at No. 7 nationally with 270 points. The complete poll is available here.

    The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) also released its 14th regular season poll and UNC Pembroke, who finished the regular season 26-2 overall and 18-2 in league play, was ranked ninth with 262 points. The poll is available here.

  • In the 13th edition of the D2SIDA women’s basketball regular season poll, Belmont Abbey continued to receive votes in the national poll. The full poll is available here.

    The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) also released its 13th regular season poll and Belmont Abbey, who claimed the top seed in the 2023 Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Championship with a 22-4 overall record and a 19-1 mark in league play, continued to receive votes in the poll which is available here.

  • Inside Lacrosse Women (ILWomen) and the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released the first regular-season ILWomen/IWLCA Division II poll and Mount Olive was ranked No. 25 with 38 points. The poll is available here.

  • The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) released the second regular-season poll and Belmont Abbey received votes. The full poll is available here.

  • On the track, the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the fifth regional Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI) and on the women’s side six Conference Carolinas institutions remained inside the top-15 led by Mount Olive at No. 4 with 221.99 points. Southern Wesleyan was seventh with 140.40 points, UNC Pembroke was 11th with 85.24 points, North Greenville was 13th with 58.06 points, Belmont Abbey was 14th with 47.53 points and Converse was 15th with 47.27 points. Erskine was 17th with 41.84 points and they were followed by King (20th, 17.57), Emmanuel (21st, 10.94), Lees-McRae (22nd, 10.83) and Barton (25th, 0.13). On the men’s side, Mount Olive held at No. 3 with 219.59 points, UNC Pembroke was ninth with 113.01 points and North Greenville was 11th with 72.54 points. Southern Wesleyan was 13th with 67.50 points followed by Belmont Abbey (15th, 42.62), Emmanuel (16th, 32.65), Lees-McRae (18th, 27.76), Erskine (21st, 14.67), King (22nd, 11.97), Barton (25th, 6.33), and Converse (26th, 2.60).   • Off the Block released the week seven NCAA Division II coaches poll and North Greenville continued to lead the league at No. 7 with 58 points while King held at No. 8 with 21 points and Lees-McRae joined the poll for the first team at No. 10 with 12 points.
