Conference Carolinas Remains Well Represented in National and Regional Polls

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas continued to have 13 programs earn spots in their respective national and regional polls in this week’s rankings update headlined by North Greenville who remains atop the NCBWA poll.

  • The National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) unveiled the second set of championship rankings on April 5 and two Conference Carolinas institutions remained ranked in the top-10 led by Limestone at No. 9 followed by Belmont Abbey at No. 10. The top eight teams in the final ranking will qualify for the 2023 NCATA National Championship Tournament. The next set of rankings will be released on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.   • The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released the week eight regular season poll and North Greenville, who is 31-4 overall and 18-3 in league play, remained atop the poll with 494 points and all 15-of-20 first-place votes. Mount Olive received votes as the second team outside the top-25 poll. The Crusaders remained atop the Southeast Region poll with 98 points and 8-of-10 first-place votes while Mount Olive climbed three spots to No. 5 with 55 points and UNC Pembroke slipped two spots to No. 6 with 53 points. Belmont Abbey remained in the poll at No. 10 with eight points while Erskine continued to receive votes in the poll. The polls are available here.

    In the April 3 Collegiate Baseball Division II poll, North Greenville slipped one spot to No. 2 with 232 points while Mount Olive moved up eight spots to No. 6 with 202 points and UNC Pembroke improved two spots to No. 17 with 109 points. The full poll can be seen here.

  • In the April 4 Golfstat team rankings, the Barton men came in at No. 16. The poll is available here.

  • The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)/Dynamic week eight regular-season poll and Belmont Abbey continued to receive votes and was the first team outside the top-25. The full poll is available here.

  • Inside Lacrosse Women (ILWomen) and the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released the April 3 regular-season ILWomen/IWLCA Division II poll and Mount Olive moved back into the top-25 at No. 25 with 20 points. The poll is available here.

  • The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s National Team, Singles and Doubles Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point for April 5 and Conference Carolinas was well represented.  In the women’s team rankings Erskine led the way at No. 34 with a 19.438 average while Mount Olive moved up one spot to No. 42 with a 15.196 average. In the men’s rankings Francis Marion was the only team ranked at No. 42 with a 16.125 average. The rankings are available here.

  • On the track, the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the second national and regional Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI) and Mount Olive topped the women’s Southeast Region rankings with 841.62 points while Southern Wesleyan joined the top five at No. 4 with 403.25 points. Converse came in at No. 9 with 278.46 points followed by Belmont Abbey at No. 10 with 269.80 points. North Greenville is 13th with 224.32 points followed by UNC Pembroke (17th, 180.15), Emmanuel (19th, 124.53), Erskine (23rd, 69.080, Lees-McRae (24th, 67.75), King (25th, 58.83), Barton (28th, 7.04) and Francis Marion (29th, 1.48).. In the men’s regional rankings, the Trojans are second with 543.87 points while UNC Pembroke is fourth with 467.80 points. Southern Wesleyan is ranked 10th with 238.20 points followed by Belmont Abbey (11th, 234.22), North Greenville (12th, 229.36), Lees-McRae (18th, 137.77), Emmanuel (19th, 133.24), Erskine (21st, 82.33), King (24th, 58.48), Barton (25th, 37.15), Converse (27th, 26.07) and Francis Marion (28th, 1.50).   • Off the Block released the week 13 NCAA Division II coaches poll and North Greenville moved up one spot to tie for sixth with 49 points while Erskine fell one spot to No. 9 with 19 points and King was 10th with 14 points.
