Trentman helped the Valkyries to an 11-1 record in the month of October, making 12 starts at middle blocker. She finished the month with 85 kills for an average of 2.07 per set, .375 hitting percentage, nine solo blocks and 28 total blocks for an average of 0.68 blocks per set. She eclipsed 10 kills twice, hitting over .400 each time, starting with 11 terminations and a .476 attack percentage against Belmont Abbey. She then registered 12 kills and a .568 attack percentage against Barton. In the match against Belmont Abbey, Trentman added seven blocks, three solo.

Pollard was named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year after finishing third at the Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Championship with a 6k time of 22.57. Earlier in the month she finished the 5k Queens Invitational in 19:34 and the 6k Louisville Classic in 24:09.

Carney was named Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year and Runner of the Year after he was the first finisher at the Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Championship. The freshman covered the 8k distance in 25:45.74 to take the conference title. Earlier in the month he finished 18th at the Royals Challenge with a personal best 8k time of 25:08.9.

Deshawn Tompkins | North Greenville | Running Back | Freshman | Summerville, South Carolina
Tompkins was solid for North Greenville in the backfield in October, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. In four games, Tompkins amassed 262 yards on 57 carries with a long of 15 yards and one touchdown. In the Trailblazers' win over UNC Pembroke, he ran for 107 yards on 25 carries. He later closed the month with 98 yrads on 19 carries and a touchdown in a win over Chowan. He also pulled in five receptions for 70 yards and long of 28 yards.

Ayup helped anchor a backline that surrendered only two goals in nine October matches for nationally ranked Francis Marion. She started all nine matches and played 765 of a possible 810 minutes. The freshman was instrumental to a Patriot defense that posted a scoreless streak that reached 1171:12, the sixth-longest shutout streak in NCAA Division II women's soccer history. In the month, the defense allowed only 5.1 shots per match and only 1.7 shots on frame per match. The Patriots did not allow a shot on goal in three matches and in three others the defense only allowed one shot on goal. Offensively, Ayup posted an assist, coming on the game-winner in a 2-0 victory over Barton. She added four shots, two on frame in the month.

Letterlough had a big month for Chowan, helping lead the Hawks to a 6-0-1 record. He tallied seven goals and 14 points in the month, including one multi-goal game. He scored in all but one game, posting two tallies in a 4-1 win over Southern Wesleyan. Five of his goals were game-winners, including the lone goal in three Chowan wins, coming against Barton, North Greenville and Ferrum.

Cauwels poasted two top 10 finishes in October for Young Harris. At the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational, she finished eighth with a tournament score of 152. She then finished 10th at the Newberry Fall Invitational with a tournament score of 159.

Ankelstam was solid for Young Harris in October, posting two top 15 finsihes, including one in the top five. He finished fifth at the Currahee Invitational with a tournament score of six-under 210, posting three rounds under par. He then finished 15th at the Patriot Fall Classic, shooting three-under 213. He closed the tournament with a round of five-under 67.

Kennice Greene | UNC Pembroke | Freshman | Biabour, St. Vincent and The Grenadines
Greene had a big month, taking six wins in two meets for UNC Pembroke. At the Emmanuel Invitational, she won the 50 yard freestyle (24.05 seconds), 100 yard butterfly (58.45 seconds) and helped the Braves win the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:35.01. She also came in third with a 200 yard freestyle time of 1:59.02. In the UNC Pembroke quad meet, Greene set three UNC Pembroke facility records. The records came in the 50 yard backstroke (27.40 seconds), 50 yard freestyle (23.58 seconds) and the 400 yard freestyle relay (3:32.46). Her time in the 50 yard freestyle also set the NCAA B standard. She also finished runner-up in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 52.93 seconds.

Leonardo Medeiros | Emmanuel | Freshman | Brasilia, Brazil
Medeiros posted many solid swims in October for Emmanuel. At the Sewanee he competed in seven of nine relays, helping the Lions to six wins and one runner-up finish. He competed in the 200 yard butterfly, 200 yard breaststroke, 200 yard freestyle, 4x100 individual medley, 500 yard freestyle, 200 medley relay and the 200 yard mixed medley relays.
The freshman finished with splits of 23.42 seconds in the 50 yard butterfly, 25.75 seconds in the 50 yard breaststroke, 20.75 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle, 54.21 seconds in the 100 yard individual medley, 46.11 seconds in the 100 yard freestyle, 22.14 in the 50 yard butterfly and 20.81 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle.
At the Emmanuel Fall Invitational, he halped the 200 medley relay post a time of 1:33.01 with a 50 yard freestyle anchor leg of 21.01 seconds. He finished runner-up to a teammate in the 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard breaststroke with times of 47.10 seconds and 57.17 seconds. He then led off the 200 yard freestyle relay team with a 50 yard time of 21.33 seconds as the relay finished in 1:26.00.
