Conference Carolinas Sees 14 Teams Ranked in Weekly Update

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas continued to have 14 programs ranked across seven sports in the latest rankings update.

  • In the week 12 NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) regular season media poll for men’s basketball UNC Pembroke remained at No. 5 nationally with 338 points. In the Southeast Region poll, the Braves claimed the top spot in the region with 59 points and 5-of-6 first-place votes while Emmanuel climbed one spot to No. 8 with 21 points and Francis Marion and Belmont Abbey each received votes.     The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) also released its 12th regular season poll and UNC Pembroke, who is 24-1 on the season and 16-1 in league play, held steady at No. 5 with 333 points. The poll is available here.

  • In the 11th edition of the D2SIDA women’s basketball regular season poll, Belmont Abbey climbed three spots to No. 22 with 66 points. In the Southeast Region poll, The Abbey remained second with 44 points. Francis Marion moved up one spot to No. 7 with 17 points and UNC Pembroke remained at No. 9 with 12 points.     The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) also released its 11th regular season poll and Belmont Abbey, who is 15-1 in league play and 18-4 overall, continued to receive votes in the poll which is available here.

  • On the lanes, the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) released the February Top 25 Coaches Poll and Lincoln Memorial was ranked No. 21 with 158 points. The NTCA also released the NCAA Division II/III February Poll and LMU ranked No.8 with 251 points while Emmanuel and Tusculum each received votes in the poll.

  • The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) released the 2023 preseason  poll and Belmont Abbey was ranked 16th with 92 points while Mount Olive received votes. The full poll is available here.

  • On the track, the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the third regional Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI) and on the women’s side six Conference Carolinas institutions found themselves inside the top-15 led by Mount Olive at No. 3 with 236.24 points. Southern Wesleyan was eighth with 134.33 points, UNC Pembroke was 10th with 85.69 points, North Greenville was 11th with 78.88 points, Converse was 14th with 63.54 points and Erskine was 15th with 42.94 points. Belmont Abbey was 17th with 40.09 points and they were followed by King (18th, 22.27), Lees-McRae (22nd, 12.18), Emmanuel (23rd, 11.37) and Barton (26th, 0.32). On the men’s side, Mount Olive ranked third with 239.06 points, North Greenville was eighth with 108.61 points and UNC Pembroke was ninth with 106.72 points. Southern Wesleyan was 12th with 71.16 points followed by Belmont Abbey (15th, 54.22), Emmanuel (16th, 42.00), Erskine (18th, 18.83), King (20th, 14.02), Barton (22nd, 12.55), Lees-McRae (23rd, 11.38) and Converse (24th, 7.19).   • Off the Block released the week five NCAA Division II coaches poll and North Greenville came in at No. 7 with 41 points while Mount Olive remained eighth with 18 points and King cracked the poll at No. 10 with seven points. The full poll is available here.
