Limestone's Richardson Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Jasmine Richardson has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 1-7, the Conference announced today. This marks Limestone's third POTW honor of the season.
A senior from Talladega, Ala., Richardson shot 54.8 percent from the field and averaged 23 points, six rebounds and 1.7 steals last week as the Saints went 2-1 in Conference play.
In a 68-62 win over Emmanuel, Richardson would chip in 17 points with three rebounds and one steal. In a narrow 70-69 overtime loss to Southern Wesleyan, the guard would post her first career double-double with 23 points and 11 boards to go with three steals and two assists. In the week's finale against North Greenville, Richardson would drop a career-high 29 points with four boards and one steal in a 88-68 victory.
Richardson currently averages 18.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Her points per game rank fourth in Conference Carolinas.
