Erskine's Scott Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Erskine College forward Alexis Scott has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 19-25, the Conference announced today.
Scott, a sophomore from Anderson, S.C., helped Erskine secure a spot in the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship by averaging 13 points and 11.5 rebounds and leading the team to a 2-0 record.
Scott opened the week with 17 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in a 77-71 win over Southern Wesleyan to keep the Fleet's postseason hopes alive. In the regular season finale, Scott would just miss out on a double-double, posting nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Her performance would lead Erskine to a 76-67 win over Emmanuel, which locked up a spot for the Fleet in the Women's Basketball Championship.
Scott currently averages 11.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Her rebounds per game rank fifth in Conference Carolinas.
